Correction Process

How to submit a correction to an existing postbox and how moderators review it.

When to submit a correction

If you notice wrong or missing information on a postbox (for example the wrong reign, type, name, location, in-service status, subtype, manufacturer, town, county, grid reference, or notes) you can submit a correction. Open the postbox page and use the correction section.

What you can correct

You can propose new values for: name/location description, coordinates, reign, type, design variant (subtype), manufacturer, in service (yes/no), date in service, reg no, grid reference, town, county, and notes. You can also "flag for review" with a reason (e.g. "Please can this be checked") if you're not sure of the exact correction.

After submitting

Your correction is sent to the backend. Moderators review it and either approve or reject it. You can track your corrections in My Corrections. When a correction is approved, the postbox is updated and you earn 5 points. Rejected corrections may include a reason so you can try again with better information.
