Welcome to PostboxMap - Introduce yourself👋📮

If you're new here, introduce yourself and say hello.
Tell us a bit about:
- Where you're based
- Which areas you enjoy exploring
- Whether you're interested in local history, postboxes, walking, photography, geocaching, Wayfarer, postal heritage, or just getting out and about
- Any favourite finds so far
Don't worry if you're completely new to postbox spotting. Everyone starts somewhere, and there are plenty of people here happy to help identify boxes, explain terminology, or point you towards interesting examples nearby.
A few questions to get the conversation started:
- What's the oldest postbox you've found?
- Have you ever spotted an Edward VIII, Penfold, Ludlow, or Scottish Crown box?
- Which county are you hoping to explore next?
- Is there a box you've been trying to track down?
Feel free to share photos of your favourite finds too.
The aim of PostboxMap is simple: to build the most complete community record of UK postboxes while helping people discover new places, learn a bit of history, and get out exploring.
Whether you've added 500 boxes or you've just signed up today, you're very welcome here.
Happy spotting! 📮

I'm Ray and am based in Surrey. I'm a bit of a photography addict and love getting out and about. In my younger days I was a planespotter and bus spotter so this is part of the same mindest? I particularly like wall boxes and some of these are attractively installed, sometimes in a unique way. I have pinpointed a few I'd like to see in the flesh. I like to photograph my boxes in the best possible light with the most salient details showing. But that isn't always possible, and I have plenty of local boxes to survey when the sunny days fade away.
