Scoring and ranks

You earn points for each approved postbox you submit (reign points plus optional bonuses for rare forms or design variants). You get 5 extra points if your submission includes a photo, 5 points per approved correction, 5 points for adding the first approved photo to a postbox that had none, and 2 points when you check in to a postbox (once per postbox). Only approved (or imported) postboxes count; pending and rejected submissions do not earn points.

Your tier (Newcomer through Definitive Reference) is based on total points: contributor points plus moderator points if you review submissions. The same total is used on your public profile and on the Leaderboard. See Scoring & Ranks for the exact point thresholds.

The public Leaderboard lists contributors with total points greater than zero, sorted by total points (contributor plus moderator), 100 users per page with pagination. Ties share the same rank. The API leaderboard endpoint supports optional time periods (for example monthly or weekly) and an optional reign filter for developers building tools; those filters are not on the main leaderboard page today.
