Where can I add postboxes?
PostboxMap accepts British-style postboxes worldwide. Coordinates can be anywhere on Earth.
Worldwide submissions
You can submit postboxes from anywhere in the world. Only British-style postboxes (with UK Royal cyphers) are in scope; we do not map modern non-British designs. The map is strongest in the UK and Ireland, plus British Overseas Territories, Malta, Hong Kong, Cyprus, and other places where British-era boxes remain.
British Sovereign Base Areas (Cyprus)
Cyprus is included because British-era postboxes remain there from when the island was under British administration. The British Sovereign Base Areas (SBAs) are Akrotiri and Dhekelia, two areas on Cyprus that stayed under British jurisdiction after Cypriot independence in 1960. They have their own UK-run postal service and British-style postboxes. PostboxMap accepts submissions from anywhere on Cyprus (including the SBAs), so you can add British cypher boxes from the Republic of Cyprus or from the SBAs. If you live in or visit Cyprus and find VR, GR, E II R or other UK cyphers, please add them.
What if my location is rejected?
If you enter coordinates and see an error about invalid coordinates, double-check the format (lat, lng) and that latitude is between -90 and 90 and longitude between -180 and 180. If you still have trouble, contact us with details.
