Using a postbox page
What you can do on a postbox detail page: view details, submit corrections, add comments, add photos, and more.
Opening a postbox page
Viewing details
The page shows the postbox name, reign (royal cypher), form and design variant, whether it's in service, location (with a map), town, county, grid reference if available, and any notes. You can view the photo gallery and a close-up map of the location.
Submitting a correction
If something is wrong or missing, use the correction section on the page. You can propose changes to the reign, type, location, name, in-service status, and other fields. See Correction Process for the full guide. Moderators review corrections; approved corrections earn you 5 points.
Adding a photo
If the postbox has no photo or you have another angle, use "Add photo" on the postbox page. Upload a clear image; moderators will review it. Adding the first approved photo to a postbox that had none earns you 5 bonus points.
Comments
When logged in, you can add a comment (e.g. to note something about the box or its history). Comments are visible to everyone. You can use comments to discuss the postbox with other contributors.
Other actions
You can mark the postbox as "visited" if you've seen it in person, share the page via social links, and (if you have permission) edit the postbox directly. The page may also show who submitted it and who contributed photos or corrections.
