Looks like it may have been an Air Mail box originally, blue showing through and the sign 'holes' on the cap?

I was wondering what there was blue. I'll have to look into it more and see if it was, is it common for air mail boxes to be turned into standard red ones?

I've read up on them, I'm not sure if this was a Air Mail box as they came about in th 1930s, being an Edward VII cypher means they're off about 20 years. Although it could have been painted to give it the function of a Air Mail box within the 1930s. I've been reading this blog on it and Northampton did have 1 air mail box so it could be plausible https://threepointsofthecompass.com/2023/11/18/trail-talk-1930s-airmail-pillar-boxes/
